Having to perform this project on the desktop version of adobe illustrator really presented some roadblocks. It was quite challenging to find the correct X and Y value so I could align the type box. Finding a condensed font was also a bit of a challenge because I forgot what condensed meant. But overall I would definitely say i had fun creating every version, I liked the words I selected and I liked the end product. My favorite version is the sans serif font version and I really enjoy how the word "hickory" looks in that font. I would hope that for the next project we can use the actual application because that would allow us to perform things much easier and overall give us a funner, better, more detailed experience.

recreating repetition

 Im so glad we are no longer using indesign. Using illustrator taught me how easy adobe apps should be to use. I learned a lot of new tools like the [paintbrush tool and during this project i also used grouping and locking layers quite a lot. I love illustrator and i honestly hope we stop using indesign, recreating my work from last year was honestly so fun.

Logo Development

25 PENCIL ROUGHS     Sketching rough drafts for my company’s logo in my notebook was a surprisingly rewarding part of the design process. There’s something about putting pen to paper that helps ideas come out more freely. Without the pressure of making everything perfect, I felt more comfortable playing around with different shapes, lettering styles, and concepts that could represent the brand. Some ideas came quickly—little sparks from thinking about what the company stands for—while others took more time to figure out. What I liked most about this stage was how flexible it felt. I could cross things out, circle parts I liked, or draw several versions of the same idea in a row. The notebook became a messy but useful space where creativity wasn’t limited.
