Expressive Letters Reflection

Image
This expressive letters project was honestly one of the easiest funniest and fastest things I've done in this graphic design class. With all honesty the hardest thing to do was finding words to express, but when discussing the creative perspective it was quite easy and fun. I had the most issue creating the umbrella. What made that one so challenging was the fact that i had to construct that one letter by letter so getting the measurements right was quite the challenge. I honestly don't think i got the measurements perfect but it's okay this project was a learning experience. I had most fun making the fall one because it was very simple yet I believe it looks very satisfying.

Gestalt Principles Reflection

I enjoyed learning about new principles. I had the most fun making the closure one because i enjoyed turning the letters to a certain degree. I tried making a triangle with the letters and I would say it came out quite well.I struggled the most with the figure ground principle because it was hard to figure what direction i wanted to take with it, I honestly think it could improve and i would love to learn more about each principle. figure ground continuity closure similarity proximity

Block Set Type Reflection

Reflection Having to perform this project on the desktop version of adobe illustrator really presented some roadblocks. It was quite challenging to find the correct X and Y value so I could align the type box. Finding a condensed font was also a bit of a challenge because I forgot what condensed meant. But overall I would definitely say i had fun creating every version, I liked the words I selected and I liked the end product. My favorite version is the sans serif font version and I really enjoy how the word "hickory" looks in that font. I would hope that for the next project we can use the actual application because that would allow us to perform things much easier and overall give us a funner, better, more detailed experience.

Type Lock Up

Type Lock Up 1. A type lock up is a combination of all logo element together in a set position. It uses very different fonts, sizes, positions, directions and more. They are used on logos and websites to add diversity and make things more appealing to the customer. 2. No. One of the main properties is the fact that it uses multiple fonts.  3. I could use a type lock up if I was simply creating a company and I needed a log or if I was designing a website or if I was designing packaging.

Type 2 By Diego Diaz

Illustrator Thoughts Well, I didn't get to dive in to adobe illustrator but i've heard you are able to do things like create curves easily, create logos and more. I hope to get in to illustrator this year because i've researched and heard that it's a very fun app to use while also being a great skill to have, if you know how to manage illustrator you can very easily have a future in graphic design and things of that nature.  I'm honestly kind of jealous that my classmates have gotten a head start with the app because it seems like a lot of fun. I hope to make logos and other things that can lead to me perusing graphic design in the future . I've also heard that some of the things that are done on photoshop can also be done on illustrator. I want to explore expressive lines, freeform sketches and other things of that nature. I like the fact that there are many jobs that can be practiced through illustrator. Some of these jobs include marketing designer, fashion...
